The Jets Offseason is Upon Us and Let the Crazy Begin

The Jets once again miss playoffs for the longest drought in the NFL with 12 consecutive years of no playoffs. They started off hot in the beginning of the season but crashed and were eliminated from the playoffs.
The craziness begins for the Jets now, just like every offseason for the Jets and it started on Wednesday with conflicting reports if offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur was fired. Now, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding LaFleur because of his play-calling in the last couple of games of the season, which were critical for the team to stay in the race for the playoffs.
There was reports of him possibly getting replaced this offseason or him getting more help calling the plays because again he showed flashes with the play calling but he was super consistent throughout the season. In the last three games of the season, the Jets scored ZERO touchdowns and due to not scoring they were eliminated from the playoffs.
There is a lot that when wrong for the Jets this season but the play calling was big part of it.
The positives about the Jets is that they do have young talent and this close to actually competing. We say this every year that this is a big offseason but this one in recent years is one of the important.
Figure the Quarterback Position
The Jets had another year with a quarterback not throwing for over ten touchdowns and they had three quarterbacks play for them this season. The answer at quarterback is still a huge question mark once again as they continue to miss on the position.
The stats combined from Joe Flacco, Mike White, and Zach Wilson was 345/608 for 3,931 yards and 14 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. That is brutal and that is why the Jets aren't a playoff team. Prime example of why quarterback play is important is Geno Smith for the Seahawks who played spectacular all year and they made it to the playoffs. The Jets have talent on the offensive side of the ball but need someone to move the ball.
There is quarterbacks that could possibly available like Lamar Jackson via trade. There is also quarterback like Derek Carr or Jimmy Garappolo that could be an option for the Jets. They have to be aggressive and go get someone this offseason. If they can get consistent quarterback play, they will be in good shape.
This will be the main focus for the Jets in figuring out that position, the most important position in sports but there is a lot of holes to look at for this team.
Joe Douglas has a lot of work to do and a lot of decisions to be made.
